I’ve mentioned Mount Rainier a number of times in these blog posts. It’s one of the most beloved mountains in the State of Washington, and one of the tallest mountains in the continental USA, second only to Mount Whitney in California, and that depends on snow fall each year. I see this mountain often, as most of us do hereabouts. I never get tired of seeing her.
On one of my almost daily walks, just a few blocks from home.
A zoomed in close-up taken a few seconds after the first photo above.

From my boat, just off of Eagle Island (the island to the left) in south Puget Sound.
From inside Gig Harbor on the west side of Puget Sound, west of Tacoma.
Another photo from my boat while at Longbranch again.
Photo taken from my boat on my last trip to south sound before I sold the boat.
I have enjoyed almost 30 years watching the many moods of this mountain while cruising Puget Sound on my boat. I will keep those wonderful memories close to my heart.
And, with my new travel trailer, I will see Mount Rainier from a myriad of new angles, and will be able to get a whole lot closer. In fact, I have a reservation in late August this year for six days of camping at Cougar Rock Campground in Mt. Rainier National Park. I’m sure I’ll have photos and stories to share. More adventures and more memories!
What a beautiful view you have!
Indeed! What a blessing.
Your photos are like post cards, so pretty. The first picture showing where you walk is beautiful, as are the rest.
That mountain is so stunning. I sometimes forget it’s there until I turn a corner and WOW there it is.
