Later that same day ….
After Little Towhee’s adventure discovering the Big Ocean in the morning, we drove back to the campground for lunch and naps. Then I took off again in the afternoon to seek out more beach adventures.
Roosevelt Beach (our morning’s destination) had been empty but for me. The next beach past Roosevelt Beach however, had lots of people and lots of vehicles of all sorts on it, including horse trailers and horses!
Having owned two horses when I was a teenager, I was tempted to take one of these folks out for a spin on the beach.
The poor guy below looked pretty darned bored. Was he dreaming of how he would prance and cavort when it was finally quittin’ time and he could head back to the barn?
I like to think so!
NOTE: Later on during this camping trip, I just happened to drive past the acreage where these horses are kept and I can assure you they have plenty of room to roam and are very well cared for.
If I was younger, I would definitely ride one of those horses!
My thoughts exactly, Ginger. Those were the days. 🙂
What a nice place to ride. But this old lady wouldn’t even be able to get up on it’s back
But they are beautiful
Ha! You and Ginger and I seem to be in the same boat, so to speak. I feared I would need an escalator to get up in the saddle … and a fork lift to get back down on the ground after an hour’s ride. A ride on the beach did seem like a nice thought tho.
Lol
