Mossyrock, horses and blueberries

October, 2021

There isn’t anything much better in the world than horses, and blueberries … well, ok maybe a barn here and there, too … and your dog by your side (or in your heart) … well, ok and a quiet, peaceful, lovely high tide in Puget Sound (or British Columbia) in the evening.

This afternoon I drove around the countryside in the larger area around the town of Mossyrock. Seems they like to grow Christmas trees hereabouts. And they have nice old barns that lean just a little bit.

They also have horses!

And tractors!

And especially they have horses that start walking towards you as soon as you jump out of your big white truck …

These two gals were so handsome and friendly.

And then on down the road and around another corner or four, there was another LARGE blueberry farm. It’s late October, so the leaves on the blueberry bushes are changing. They are so pretty.

Even the small, new plants that were planted this season are getting ready for winter.

Oh wait now, these vines below aren’t blueberries! I think they are wine grape vines, also changing leaf color.

And then I headed back to my campsite, but took a different road and crossed a different bridge over the lake and saw a different equally gorgeous view of the lake and the trees.

I’m loving it here, easy to see why, eh?

That last photo is wonderful. As other people here have said, I could live there! And excellent photos of horses. I can think of a few fun captions for some of them. ๐Ÿ™‚

Wow! This is beautiful country!! Of course I love the bans, and if I can get horses and barns, AND rows of fruit…jackpot! I saw huge blueberry farms on my way over to Lake Michigan last weekend. I didn’t know they were over there. The leaves were turning and it was beautiful but I didn’t stop to get a photo because it was getting late and I hadn’t found a spot on the lake for the wave shots yet. I should have stopped though.. Your shots are great!

With as many blueberry farms as there are here in Washington, many thousands of acres of them, and then more in Michigan as well, between our two states we must have the blueberry market cornered! Ok, next year, you get photos of blueberry leaves turning, and I’ll go find a stunning ocean storm around a lighthouse like you just did. It sure is fun to share. ๐Ÿ™‚

Great tractors. I think those are grape vines too. Gorgeous horse photos. Makes me miss the horse I had in my younger years.

We were thinking the same as Ruby here. That video could have some great “voice overs”. When the horses got to the fence close to you and stopped, they both looked like “well, what, are you just going to stand there with a camera in your face?” And then the white one turned and said to the black one, “No apples? Not even a carrot? what’s with that? We walked all the way over here for nothing?”
    Great photos and video! ๐Ÿ™‚
