The video below is of a modern-day group singing an old “soft rock” classic. The group is “Music Travel Love” (with a few more folks added for this song). They sing “Stand By Me”. The video was taken at Al Ain, in Abu Dhabi.
“Music Travel Love” is the two brothers (Canadians) who play guitar in the video below. They have been playing and singing and performing professionally since they were 4 years old and have 7 albums out. The other people in the video (the man on the right and the three women on the left) join the brothers for this song. Those two fellows are excellent on their own, but the other people sure add to this performance!
Of course, the song “Stand by Me” refers to that one special person in your life, the one you love. But it also talks to all of us, and reminds all of us to care for each other and help each other, to stand by each other.
Enjoy.
And … if you want to hear the original … the 1961 recording of this song by Ben E. King, here it is. If you’re of an age to remember this original, like I am, I bet you’ll be dancing in your chair. ๐
My husband just asked why I was bouncing in my chair. I said “I’m not bouncing, I’m dancing!” ๐
Beautiful rendition of this song, thanks for sharing! It reminds me of my dear Lord God who never leaves me or forsake me.
I’m dancing in my chair, my heart & on my feet!
Oh that takes me back! Gotta haul out the old vinyl. More dancin’. ๐
I’m not one for dancing, but you had even me dancing in my chair … well, just a little bit! ๐
Ben E. King was one of my favorite artists (tho there were so many). He did “Up On the Roof” and “This Magic Moment” and “Save the Last Dance for Me” and “Under the Boardwalk”. Wow this takes me back. Oh and “Spanish Harlem”. I am dancin’!! ๐
Definitely some head bobbing going on over here. For both versions! Thank you for posting these! Soooooo fun!
Amen to the Lord standing with us, Mila. And I really like how “inclusive” Ann is in a lot of her blog posts including this one. We are, all of us on the planet, in this together. Thanks Ann! ๐ Got me dancin’!
My feet were dancing! Felt young again. ๐
Your camping blogs are super. And the non-camping blog posts you post in between are equally super. Dancing in my chair! ๐ Also thanks to Ben for other songs that Ben E King sang, great songs. Up on the roooooof.
Yep, loved this. ๐ Dancing!
All you wonderful Readers … I am so glad you liked this, and that the videos got you dancing, whether on your feet on in your chair (and in your hearts). Your comments always make my day. Here’s to happiness! ๐
